Hello

Thank you for dropping by my space!

I count myself a lifestyle blogger however, many of my posts cover deeper subjects including my battles with food, my struggles with the past and body image. I try to be as authentic as possible and I don’t sugar coat how I see things.

Good Morning Springtime

Good Morning Springtime

I've been counting down the days till your arrival since the first signs of winter. You are my favorite season and I await you with bated breath.

Like fall you are different from place to place. In Alberta you bring one day of snow melting with the sun shining and the wind blowing. With the next a blizzard, freezing temperatures, and the frustration of having to bundle up again. You love being inconsistent and almost cruel in your pop up displays of sunshine. Yet every year we yearn for you in earnest, not allowing the crushing snow to dampen our spirits. As we brush off the layers of ice from our cars, we acknowledge that if we gave it one more hour it would have melted from the heat, but we need to be at work, now. We are lucky to make it home before the snow starts up once more.

In Wisconsin you take a different approach. A slow steady increase of temperature with the occasional drop but only by four or five degrees not twenty. You hit us with rain and fog. This year though you top last year with the nightly storms. Storms of heavy winds, flashing lightening, lightening up the whole room showing off the torrid of rain. It was both beautiful and terrifying. The glass on my window clashes with each breeze and for a moment I thought maybe living on the first floor would be better than the top. But the first floor doesn't have a view and I love my view. You even gave us one last snow, of bright fluff. The perfect snowball weather.

Good Morning Springtime

But I haven't even spoken of the best part of spring in Wisconsin yet. And that is the birds. On the first bright day, I filled my bird feeder and spent an hour beside my window watching them come. So enough, they were lined up along the rail waiting for their turn. Those that jumped the line, immediately caused a fight breaking up the whole row and allowing others to get into place. Their chirps wake me up almost every morning and it is so much better than an alarm clock. I love watching and listening to them. I've already seen my dove. I hope her partner is around somewhere and that they are building their nest again in the roof above me. The cardinal made his annual visit, Kevin missed seeing him by half a second. Hopefully he will drop by again.

Spring is here. It might just be little doses right now, but soon enough those will be more often than the cold. For now I am counting down the minutes until breakfast can be had on the patio again.

What do you look forward to the most come spring?
