The sad part is, this is the year of change. Everyone we know has graduated or is graduating. Things are changing and evolving. While I am part of this change, I feel old. Watching a group of young men change these last four years has been interesting.
On Friday we threw a party - Alex's Going Away Party. Out of the group the only ones to graduate and leave the city so far have been Shams and Alex. Each occasion needs to be marked of course. What better way then a potluck. I didn't get a picture of all the food, but there was Biryana (made by Zain's Mom) - which is seriously competing with my favorite dishes (Scalloped Potatoes and Varenyky are my favorites). We also had amazing Potato Salad (made by Nathan), Greek Salad (made by Chris), Ham (6 hours in a slower cooker! they were yummy!), and Scalloped Potatoes (pictures to follow). Drinks were supplied by Kimmy and we had Eclairs (brought by Alex), Red Velvet Cake (brought by Rai) and Brownies for dessert.
Out of the whole night, these two photos say it all - We have a great group of friends and I'm feel sentimental.
