Facts About Me

As this is for Blogmas I figured all the facts needed to be Christmas Related! When Kevin and I first moved to Calgary and Christmas came along, Kevin bought me this adorable Santa Hat. I discovered that when you made Christmas something you wanted and not what everyone else wanted, it was actually a lot of fun. And as such I have spent the last 5 years doing Christmas things I wasn't able to do before.

The Santa Hat

This may seem completely silly, but I love this hat! Kevin didn't get me the traditional kind of hat, he got something that fits with my personality - Pink with Princess written across! The pictures I have of the hat aren't always the best, but they show my emotions for that year, though I am missing 2013.

You can see this years Santa Hat on Instagram!!

Gingerbread Houses

Not sure why, but we weren't allowed to build gingerbread houses growing up, so the first time I built one was in 2010! It was a kit, so I definitely cheated, but I didn't even know how to make gingerbread at that point. If you live in the Madison, Wisconsin area and make your own gingerbread houses, let me know, I would be a willing assistant!!

The Gingerbread Extravaganza

In 2013 I hosted an Extravaganza. I dragged all my friends  to my house to decorated Gingerbread Men. It was the first time most of us had ever decorated them and it was a blast! You can read all about it here! I would love to make Christmas Cookie Decorating a tradition, but maybe with Sugar Cookies instead of Gingerbread.

Christmas Stockings

The only Christmas stockings I have ever done are the ones you see in the feature photo above. And those were for friends. I really want to do stocking exchanges between Kevin and I. But first I must find the perfect stocking for each of us. And after 5 years of looking I have yet to find what I am looking for. I'm sure I'll find it one day, but for now the search is on!

And there you have it, five random "Christmas" facts about me. Writing this post has really made me realize how much I do love the holiday. I just need to remember to stay true to my heart and make it what I want, there's nothing wrong with that!

XOXO Merry Christmas!
