2015 Goals Recap
I know it's a little early but the way I am doing goals for 2016 is a little different from previous years. Jazmine from Fairy Lights & Dreams and I are doing a Monthly Aspirations starting January 1st. For more details check out this post! See original post here.
Here is the 2015 Goal Recap
2015 Feminist Goals
Read more Feminist Books
Join a Feminism Group hopefully here in town
Write more, understand more
I read 7 Feminist Books. For feminist groups, I found one online that I am able take part in. But I have not found a physical group to join in town yet.
2015 Blogging Goals
Redesign the blog
Put my vision in to action (I need HTML Classes!!)
Fix my Bloglovin’ and Facebook issues
Find a way to network everything properly together
I did redesign the blog! I actually moved to self hosted! And my vision has come together. It will always be a work in progress as my vision expands. I joined instagram and I love it, I think it's my favorite social media outlet and it turns out I need PHP classes not HTML. As for bloglovin' and facebook issues, they were resolved early on in the year, everything was later networked the way I need it to and I am enjoying how it works. Everything can be improved and I will be working towards that, but last years blogging goals are DONE!
2015 Money Goals
Create a better budget
Get out of all debt besides student loans
Understand how student loans work better and it’s process
2015 Fitness Goals
Train for a 10k (I downloaded the Couch to 10K app)
Focus on Yoga and stretching (YouTube is awesome for Yoga!!)
Utilize Gym Membership
I have not fully trained for the 10k. Running became painful mid-February, emotionally not physically. And while my consistency lacked in 2015, it was more than 2014 and 2013 combine. I feel so much better and this will be a work in progress.
2015 Reading Goals
80 Books with more focus on
-Feminism (books in mind Like a Beggar by Ellen Bass, An Untamed State by Roxane Gay, Texts from Jane Eyre And Other Conversations with Your Favorite Literary Characters by Mallory Ortberg, Redefining Realness by Janet Mock, The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters, A Cup of Water Under my Bed by Daisy Hernadez, Bad Feminist Essays by Roxane Gay (I have it, but haven't read it), Playing the Whore by Melissa Gira Grant, Women in Clothes by Sheila Heti, Heidi Julavits and Leanne Shapton, and Smoke Gets in Your Eyes by Caitlin Doughty)
-Biblical Study (The Skeptics Annotated Bible)
-Science or World Related (books like A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson (attempted it but it was so boring...), Undeniable Evolution and the Science of Creation by Bill Nye (own it but am scared to open it based on the first attempted with the previous book) and This Changes Everything by Naomi Klein) (a lower reading goal because I am choosing topics that are harder for me to focus on)
Books read this year can be found here, it's not my goal amount. But you know what so much happened this year that I am okay with this. I read 7 feminist books as mentioned above. But the reality of reading is that this year it stressed me out, so I took a step back and enjoyed myself vs stretching myself to do something I didn't want. It worked. It means I didn't get care reading the Bible or read anything Science or World Related. But that's okay.
2015 Eating Goals
Eat less sugar
Develop better habits
Be creative in my cooking habits
Bake more unique items
Better habits yes, we did the 21 Day Challenge it was successful. And while I need to do it again. I feel like we have done a ton better with our food habits since moving to the states.
2015 Personal Goals
Be less angry
Think more before reacting
Realize not all people are cruel
Focus on the positive
Focus on the positive people in my life
Remove or hold at a distance bad influences
We Got Married! I have a ton of posts about that. I do think before reacting. I have seen myself grow so much in my reactions, my anger, my positivity. This past year has been a year of interesting challenges. I removed a bad influence and while I still struggle with it, I feel so much better!
