February, the month of love

Favorite program to watch this month

Wallander, it's a very slow BBC show. But not made in Britian but in Sweden. It's good, it's slow and people have feelings. Cops in American TV shows act liking kill someone is nothing. But in this show, it's treated as it should be. This came recommended to me by a friend and I really enjoyed it.

Favorite photo I took this month

Building the Office

Your getting a sneak peek with this image on something posting next week. But I'm in love with this picture.

Favorite way I spent my time this month

Working beside a fire!

Favorite food this month

Beef Biryani from Maharani - it's comparable to my memory of Zain's Mom and Shams' Mom Biryani. Now I just need to met a Mom who would be willing to teach me how to make it.

Favorite drink this month

For my Birthday one of our friends here in Madison brought IBC Root Beer. And I LOVE IT! It tastes amazing, is caffeine free. IBC also has Cream Soda, that's not pink, but tastes so freaking good!!

Favorite event or occasion this month

Kevin's work hosted a Movie Night. We watch Jurassic Park, which is a movie I hadn't seen. I'm not talking about the 2014 Jurassic Park but the original first movie made in 1993. Excuse the crap cellphone photos

Favorite song this month

Everything has Changed by Taylor Swift ft Ed Sheeran. On repeat lately. And then I discovered Mary Lambert, I've heard about her before and enjoyed her Secrets song. But when I read this post, I started to listen to all her songs.

Sum of Our Parts

This Heart

Just beautiful, powerful words.

We are, we are more than our scars We are, we are more than the sum of our parts We are, we are more than our scars We are, we are more than the sum of our parts

Favorite thing I’ve use this month

For for my birthday I got the Urban Decay Smoky Naked Palette. Inside the palette was a tutorial for four different makeup looks. So four days in a row, I experimented with the four looks.

Within two weeks of playing with the palette, I discovered a few things.

  1. There's a lot of gold and it's dark. I felt like the color combinations really washed me out. I liked look 1 and 3. They were light and suited how I like to do my makeup. Look 2 I hated, I felt like it was a half done look. Look 4 was dark and I that's when I noticed how washed out I was.
  2. I started getting a patchy spot on my right eye. I wasn't sure what it from, so I washed all my makeup brushes and stopped using makeup for a week. The patch healed up, so I went back to the Naked 2 for a few days and had no issues. Then I went back to the Smoky Palette and the spot came back. So by January 18th I returned and exchange it for the Too Faced Chocolate Far Eyeshadow Palette.

So I guess I'm changing this favorite to the Chocolate Palette.

Favorite Blog

Rebekah, from Rebekahanne. I love her outfit posts but beyond that I have really enjoyed her When Being Your Own Blog Photographer is Hard Post (she has two!). Rebekah is down to earth and beautiful.

Honestly I haven't been feeling twitter. I'm not sure what I need to do, but new direction is needed for it. So for now I'll leave you with something I personally tweeted on a rough day

Shan BOODY, the first of her videos I watched was How to Get Naked and Win, it's long and it made me cry. It's a beautiful work of sharing. She talks a lot of sex, body positivity and I love her.

Drew, he was our best man in our wedding. We had a 2am chat and it was good. What I needed and I hope I was supportive for him. But seriously I miss my chats with this man.

I'm a lifestyle blogger, covering deep subjects including body images, battles with food, and overcoming how I was raised. I try to be as authentic as possible and I don’t sugar coat how I see things.
