Just the Two of Us

Just the Two of Us

Angela and Kevin

How We Began

We were introduced, officially, on Easter Sunday 2005 by Kevin's sister Karen. Karen and I had been attending L.A. School of Hair and Design together and she was picking me up for church, Kevin was in the backseat. That summer I moved in with Karen and we began hanging out occasionally. By October, occasionally turned to daily and on January 27, 2006 Kevin asked me out. He did it while we were driving together to go see a movie. It was the most awkward and worst movie I have ever seen (Munich), but that could be because of the awkwardness felt by the situation. Our first date was set for February 3rd. We went to the Water Tower (popular place to be then in Lethbridge, Alberta). I ordered angel hair pasta and he order salmon (this order style hasn't changed much over the years).

From there it was moving in together and figuring out our dreams. The first step was to move to Calgary, Alberta and in 2008 it happened, I was promoted and we went. Kevin began school in 2011, graduating four years later with a degree in computer science. 2015 was a big year for us - I was no longer working, we got married, and we moved from Canada to the US.

I write about our relationship because I want to remember all of it. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Much like my Self Portrait posts, I wanted this space to be upfront and honest about our relationship. I hope you'll follow along.

Previous Years

The story of our year, including our immigration journey.

Finally feeling settle, we could travel and enjoy our time.

Our first full year in Wisconsin. The year of just being. Life slows down.

Getting married and moving cities and then countries. The changes grow bigger.

The year changes began. Graduating and no longer working.
