Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict by Laurie Viera Rigler
I have attempted this book once before. But I found I could not focus at all and I didn't understand anything the characters were talking about. And even though this book is based on Mansfield Park by Jane Austen, which I have yet to read. I still find I could understand almost everything just be reading a few others of Austen's and so many of the movie adaptions.
Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict was such a good book! What Courtney goes through is exactly what I would go through. I could relate to her on all things. In fact most of the time it was like I was in my own imagination after reading one of Jane Austen's books or watching a movie adaption.
I really enjoyed this book and read it in a few hours, late into the night! When I should have been getting my beauty rest for work! But I was just so intrigued. Laurie Viera Rigler does the descriptions so well. Like Courtney's awe of visiting baths and Pemberely and how she quotes different parts of the book.
I do feel like it ended rather abruptly. Feel a little flat for me in the end. I wanted/want more. So I am pretty excited that Laurie wrote Rude Awakenings of a Jane Austen Addict, because I am hoping for more and just as good!!
And just a random thing, I LOVE how she describe smells and all the things you don't see in movie adaptions or the things not mentioned in books. Like monthly courses, chamber pots, and bathing. Truly hilarious at times!! Anyways I love reading and things just makes me want to devourer more of Jane Austen's books and become an authentic fan!!
