The Four Ms. Bradwells by Meg Waite Clayton
When I first got this book, it had been a while since I had read Proud Book Nerds review. So I was expecting a super fun light read about four women and their lives. What I got was something completely different.
This book is very deep and covers some very feminist issues. For starters the opening page starts with
"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." by Mahatma Gandhi
for some reason, this quote really stumped me and before I had actually begun reading the book, I set down all my reading for two days and thought about this quote. What kind of change do I want to bring to this world?
Overall I very much enjoyed this story and I don't want to give much away but if you are looking for a deep read and something about feminist rights I would definitely pick this book up. I would like to mentioned I loved their nickname! How fun and cute is that! I would love to have three friends to do that with!
I did a Teaser Tuesday for this book and here is another quote I wrote down
"Ms. Ginger Decisis-Bradwell with her unchanging opinions; Sergeant Mia Terrorist-Bradwell, who Professor Jarrett brought in whenever he introduced violence to a hypothetical; Ms. Betts Drug-Lord-Bradwell, the improbable Drug Lord of Section Four; and me, Ms. Laney Cicero-Bradwell, Tapped for every Latin translation the rest of the class whiffed on all year."
Thank you Proud Book Nerd for sending me this book!
