Cover Thoughts: It just feels like it's missing something... maybe a merman with brilliant green eyes.
Review: While reading I had some random thoughts that I wrote down. So  I am using that as part of my review

Random #1: It just feels like it's missing something... maybe a merman with brilliant green eyes.

"Looking at you. Do you find that odious?"
"Odious? Who says that?"

Odious - extremely unpleasant; replusive

Random #2: Lily's mom is an interesting person. I have been around one person with the same disease (don't click disease if you don't want a spoiler), but she is so vibrant and it was weird to see another side

Random #3: The only part I truly disliked about the entire story was when she quoted the bible verses. I hate bible verses taken out of context and then you throw it into something that has not once before mentioned it. Very annoying

Random #4: Mermaids are an interesting idea and they are always wrapped up around evil. I really liked the idea of how these particular mermaids needed Humans positive energy to live and feel alive or else they would sunk into depression. I also find it interesting that merman would rather not kill, while mermaids are vindictive and out for revenge and don't care if it's the right person or not.

Random #5: This book is published by Random House Children's books. I do not feel that this story in anyway is a childrens book. Young Adult for sure but I wouldn't be handing it to any 13 year olds.

Random #6: I love her tattoo idea No Coward Soul is Mine (the poem by Emily Bronte) what a great idea. However the sport she gets it in, extremely childish... but then again she is only 16.

END: I really enjoyed the story but I don't think it's something I would read again, though I would definitely read another book by Anne Greenwood Brown.
