The Mortal Instruments
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
I first read this series in 2009! I can't believe it's been that long since I started reading this series. The movie is being released in August and as such I decided to reread the series. AD I just realized this was the very first book I ever reviewed on this blog! Awesome!!
City of Bones is a most interesting story. Simon is most definitely my favorite character and he gets burned big time in this book. Yet he stays for his friend. He is a true friend.
I found Alec and Clary's relationship very interesting mainly because I always remember it from the later books and it's very different in the later books than what it is in this book. There is also no parental supervision in this book. That very much bothers me. But I suppose it's understandable. Clary's mother disappears and Alec and Isabelle's parents are away and assume their kids are safe with their friend.
I expected all the twists as I have read this book before but it's always the small details that stick out in the second read. For example Simon wondering why he can see them and coming to the understanding that his eyes have been opened to a different world.
I am most curious as to how things go with Rapheal. I very much forgot about his aspect in the story and am looking forward to remembering those details in the next few books.
Can't wait for the movie!!
OH and BTW I just love the cover!!!
