February was a good month for reading!! February Reads

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong

Link

Interesting read. You know as much as the main character and most times she's a naïve idiot. It's actually kinda frustrating. The last twenty pages she actually started getting somewhere. Though she did act appropriate for her age. I wanted the twist and I got it. Now off to read book 2

The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong

I hate love triangles and while it isn't yet one, it has the feelings of one and that irritates me. The cover is of Chloe's necklace, I wish there was more explanation as to what it's purpose is, but at the same time we know as much as Chloe. Also I am totally rooting for Derek.

The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong

I just realized all the books in this series have covers with the same necklace on them. Starts red, then blue and now purple/pink. I am happy to report that the love triangle didn't become a thing and was actually dealt with swiftly. Out of all the books I think this was my favorite, things actually happen! However, for a trilogy it does not end well. I might have to google to see if there's more.February Reads

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms Inheritance book 1 by N.K. Jemisin

Gods Worlds The night

Definitely not young adult

I enjoyed this tale and I find myself without the words to write about it. It was good and book two is on order.

The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss

The Illustrations in this book are beautiful and the story is lovely. It's hard to write about it actually. My favorite thing is "she washed her face and hands and feet". Day 5 I believe I can imagine perfectly. The panic is true to some of my own. I can't wait to read more about what Patrick Rothfuss has written.February Reads

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

Link

Goodreads needs a reread option on their books. Because I reread a lot of books throughout the year and I would like that recorded. I finally got my hands on the third book of this series and so I had to reread all of them. I love this series. I love the family dynamics that Stiefvater creates. I love the characters. And I want to know more about Ronan and Chainsaw. For a longer review check out the first time I read this book.

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater

I don't remember this one as well as I did the first one. In fact, I didn't remember a lot of it. Which makes the book interesting to read. Adam grows some balls. Gansey realizes his privilege. Blue still has the most unique family dynamic I have ever seen. And Ronan I just want more of. Here's the review of the first time I read this book, and now I'm off to read book three!

Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Marrie Stiefvater

Link

I thought this was the last book in the series. Turns out it's not. But Ronan and Adam are amazing and I enjoyed their characters so much in this book. It ends badly, as in cliffhanger, and now I sit waiting for the next book. Maura is back, Neeve is back. Peresphone is well I didn't see that coming and I am curious how the three will work in book 4.February Reads

Oh gosh this is not a children's tale

The Adventures of the Princess and Mr. Whiffle by Patrick Rothfuss

Link

Part one, went as expected Part two, ended with drips Part three, the drips aren't what you think and you laugh at yourself for thinking the children's tale would go there. And then it does.

What did you read in February?
